Frequently Asked Questions

What Style of Yoga will I be trained in?

You will feel confident to teach smart, strong, and safe vinyasa and power yoga classes. The techniques here will be beneficial to anyone who wants to teach a modern yoga class in hatha, gentle vinyasa, beginners, or power.

What is the time commitment for this training?

This training, despite being virtual, is an intensive teacher training. In addition to the 4 LIVE sessions a week, you will be required to complete two weekly Power Yoga classes twice a week. There will be additional meditations and weekly homework for a total of 16 hours per week of commitment. All classes and material will be recorded, however it is highly recommended that you attend a minimum of 50% of the classes LIVE on Zoom.

Do I need to have an existing yoga practice to participate?

You should have a basic vinyasa/power yoga practice and knowledge of the foundational poses, but this training is for everybody and suitable to students of all levels. We recommend checking in with us if you have any pre-existing injuries before committing to the training.

Do I need to have completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training to do this course?

No but we highly encourage you to have at least 1 year vinyasa/power experience.

Will I be certified to teach yoga upon completion of this training?

Yes, if you have already completed a level one, 200 hour training, then you will be certified to teach in these additional styles. If this is your first yoga training, then this training can be used in addition to a 200 hour certification to get you the hour needed to be considered YA compliant.

Will this training benefit me if I do not want to teach yoga?

Absolutely!! You can expect to have a transformational experience physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually during the 6-week intensive. You can also expect to make deep and meaningful friendships, and strengthen your self-confidence through the vulnerability and assertiveness components of the training.

Will this training be extremely physical and rigorous?

The classes vary in difficulty, but they are all very safe on the body. We will give you modifications for beginners and never encourage anyone to push beyond their edge. You can definitely expect to build some strength and sweat, but nobody will be expected to put their leg behind their head ;-)

Will I have contact with other students during this training??

An essential element in any training is the connection between not only the teachers and students but also between the students themselves. For this training, students are assigned accountability buddies that they are required to meet on a weekly basis to practice teaching one another. Students in our previous trainings have made some beautiful soul connections with their partners that are sure to extend well beyond the time frame of the course itself!

What if I’m already a teacher?

This YTT is 100 hours of a 300 hour advanced certification. These 100 hours can be transferred or combined with other programs to achieve your 300 hours. We will provide you with a certification of completion at the end of the course.

Will there be tests and homework?

There will be a small amount of homework, but most of your homework will be spent practice teaching with your accountability partner. At the end of the training there will be a written test and a practice test. As long as a student has been participating regularly in the training, they can expect to pass these final exams.

What is the minimum age for a student in the training?

The minimum age is 16 and there is no maximum age :-)

Do I need to complete the training within the 6 week timeframe?

Yes, all requirements for completing the course need to be met within the 6 weeks. This training is semi-self paced; meaning you do not have to attend live sessions but are required to view them and complete all homework in a timely manner. Time management and self-discipline are essential in order to successfully complete the training.

What if I can’t attend all of the live Zoom sessions?

There are 3 hour long live Zoom classes M-TH. Although we strongly encourage you to be present during the live sessions we understand that these are interesting times and many are juggling a number of other responsibilities which may not enable you to join us live. All sessions are recorded and uploaded so that you can view them at a time that is convenient for you.

I live in Europe or an area where these times don’t work with my schedule, will there be additional times to practice with Paul live?

If there are enough sign-ups in Europe and Asia, we will add an additional 2 hour session once a week to accommodate our international community.
