January 14, 2019 by Sonia Ribas

I have just taught my first yoga class of 2019. In today’s class, all my students were focused and challenged themselves so much more than last week! I love the way the new calendar year gives all of us renewed energy and motivation to try harder and be a better version of ourselves!

The theme for today’s class was a reflection on what we’re cultivating for the year ahead. I asked my students to think beyond the classic “do more yoga, eat more healthy” list and dig a little deeper… that’s your attitude towards the year ahead?

I like to define attitudes first as they will trigger different emotions that will trigger different actions… so, before listing new actions for our life, let’s have a look at our attitude and values.

“I invite you to read the quote below, close your eyes, take a deep breath, and let it sink in”

Live Life As If Everything Is Rigged In Your Favor”. Rumi

How would your attitude change if you would believe these words? If life is rigged in your favor, the Universe has your back and provides you with what you need. The Universe meets your vibration and responds to it. When things “go well”, enjoy and be grateful. When reality is different than your expectations, allow it to teach you and enable you to grow. Very often, we rise to the best version of ourselves when life challenges us and stretches us to new horizons.

Ultimately, I am asking you to live with love as opposed of living with fear. Trust that the path ahead is friendly and the journey is exactly made for you. The people you’ll meet, the situations you’ll live, the experiences you’ll gather, the successes you’ll enjoy and the challenges you’ll face… will teach you everything you need to learn, at the perfect time.

So, from this place of love and trust… what do you want to express this coming year? What will your focus be? What will you manifest?

I would love to hear your thoughts and intentions. Please find me @soniaribascoach and share!

Yours in trust,

Sonia Ribas
